DR. ERICKA CALDWELL-CLINCH
Dr. Ericka Caldwell-Clinch is a visionary leader, educator, and advocate for ministry and community empowerment. A Miami native, she graduated from Coral Gables Senior High School’s International Baccalaureate Program and pursued higher education, earning degrees in Theatre, TESOL, and Educational Leadership, culminating in a Doctorate in Ministry from Jacksonville Theological Seminary.

Initially drawn to acting, Dr. Caldwell-Clinch discovered her passion for education and has since made a lasting impact as an educator, Assistant Principal, and Principal in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. She is also a certified mentor for administrators through the National Association for Elementary School Principals (NAESP).

As the Principal/Director of the Regional Management Training Center (RMTC), Dr. Caldwell-Clinch has led the institution to secure a six-year accreditation reaffirmation. Her leadership has cultivated Career & Technical Education partnerships, providing students with valuable real-world opportunities. She has also introduced workshops on financial literacy, time management, and entrepreneurship to equip students with essential life skills.

Through her dedication and visionary leadership, Dr. Caldwell-Clinch continues to empower students and bridge the gap between education and opportunity, solidifying her role as a respected force for positive change.

TRAVON BROWN – B.Y.O.L.
Founded in 2017 by Travon Brown, Build Your Own Legacy (B.Y.O.L.) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals to realize their fullest potential.

As CEO, Travon leads initiatives that foster personal growth and positive mindsets through mentoring, weekly check-ins, and community outreach. B.Y.O.L. is recognized for impactful programs such as back-to-school giveaways, Thanksgiving dinners, and youth sports activities, leaving a lasting impact on the community.

Travon’s journey began with his passion for basketball, inspiring him to mentor others after overcoming setbacks during his high school years. At just 17, he started a youth basketball team to uplift and guide others. A dedicated student and leader, Travon graduated from Homestead Senior High School with a 3.5 GPA, earned an Associate’s Degree in Recreation from Miami Dade College in 2021, and a Bachelor’s in Sports Management from FIU in 2023—all while actively coaching and mentoring youth.

In 2023, Travon was named the varsity head basketball coach at his alma mater, revitalizing the program in his first season. Under his leadership, B.Y.O.L. continues to inspire youth and adults, creating opportunities for success and fostering a thriving community.

KIONNE MCGHEE – COMMISSIONER
Kionne L. McGhee, Esq., is a dedicated public servant, attorney, bestselling author, and transformative leader committed to creating meaningful change. Currently serving as a Miami-Dade County Commissioner, McGhee is a former Florida State Representative for District 117, Minority Leader of the Florida House (2018–2020), and Assistant State Attorney.

McGhee’s journey is one of triumph over adversity. Despite academic challenges early in life, he graduated from Howard University and the Thurgood Marshall School of Law, exemplifying resilience and determination.

As Commissioner, McGhee advocates for economic development, public safety, and equitable resource access. His leadership has earned him accolades, including Florida’s Middle-Class Champion Award and recognition as one of Legacy Miami Magazine’s 50 Most Powerful Black Professionals.

A bestselling author of *Conquering Hope* and *A Mere I Can is AMERICAN*, McGhee inspires others to overcome challenges and reach their potential. His legislative achievements include supporting wage increases, opposing flawed gun laws, and championing Florida’s middle class.

Beyond government, McGhee uplifts his community through volunteerism, board memberships, and motivational speaking, turning challenges into remarkable achievements.

 

FORMER CHIEF ALEXANDER E. ROLLE JR.
Chief Alexander E. Rolle Jr., a proud Homestead native, dedicated over 40 years to serving and protecting his community. Breaking barriers, he became Homestead’s first African American Chief of Police in 1998, having risen through the ranks as the department’s first Black Sergeant, Captain, and Major.

For nearly 26 years, Chief Rolle led with compassion, integrity, and a commitment to fostering trust and safety. He retired in December 2024, leaving behind a legacy of transformational leadership. Supported by his family, Chief Rolle’s story is a testament to perseverance and the belief that one person can inspire lasting change.

FLORIDA CITY MAYOR OTIS T. WALLACE
Born October 31, 1951, Otis T. Wallace exemplifies resilience, leadership, and dedication to community progress. Overcoming the challenges of segregation, Wallace helped desegregate his high school before embarking on a lifelong journey to uplift Florida City.

In 1976, while a law student at the University of Miami, Wallace was elected Florida City’s sole Black commissioner, breaking barriers. In 1984, at age 32, he became one of Florida’s first Black mayors, beginning a transformative leadership legacy spanning nearly five decades.

Wallace’s tenure includes leading the city’s recovery after Hurricane Andrew in 1992, a feat earning national recognition. Today, he continues to manage Florida City’s operations while shaping its policies and future.

The Otis T. Wallace Municipal Complex and Otis T. Wallace Way stand as testaments to his enduring contributions. Wallace remains a pioneer, civil rights hero, and symbol of progress for Florida City and beyond.
